Nathan Perry

Nathan 'Rolfe' Perry - Shipwright age 50 from the Sydney Northern Beaches. Born in Manly 1972  

 Great grandson of Cecil Perry (Sid Perry), grandson of Cecil Perry (Jim Perry) and son of Alan Kenneth Perry who all lived on the Perry Houseboat Fisher Bay.  (Middle name 'Rolfe' was given to him to honour the close friendship the Perry family had with Rolfe Marks (See Bimini MHYC)

Nathan Perry was a student at Freshwater High School and has always been a resident of Sydney Northern Beaches. Nathan is a Life Member of Surf Life Saving Australia for his contributions to the community and Surfboat production and rowing. Nathan is a current Surf Life Saving accredited surfboat manufacturer whose business is located at Brookvale NSW. Perry Surfboats is an Australian owned company using traditional surfboat building methods along with state-of-the-art modern techniques and materials.  Nathan has built wooden and fiberglass surfboats for the past 35 years. 

Nathan is the former teenage apprentice of the late Shipwright Mr Bob Miles. Perry Surfboats have become highly valued, having won multiple Men's and Women's Australian Surf Boat Titles at the Local, State and Australian National Championships. The Perry surfboat is known for clearing the water quickly from within the boat using the double pump system, placed just in front of the sweeps floor near the stern of the surfboat. Nathan has dedicated many years of promoting the sport of Surf Life Saving which is largely a community volunteer movement. Nathan is passionate about Surf Life Saving, whilst ensuring safety and maintaining tradition through his production of surfboats and coaching male and female crews. Nathan is a current member of Freshwater Surf Life Saving Club and has dedicated the last 35 years to the Surf Life Saving movement. Nathan is also an avid lover of fishing and the protection of the marine environment in Middle Harbour, NSW.

Nathan is a strong supporter of Sydney Northern Beaches Surf Life Saving Clubs particularly, South Curl Curl, Mona Vale, Manly and Freshwater, having been a previous member at all for many years. Nathan has assisted both Mona Vale and South Curl Curl with their success at winning the Australian Surf Life Saving Titles in numerous divisions.
